Decorah native is asking the public for help with her upcoming Iowa State University trip to Nicaragua

Decorah native Elizabeth Shroyer, who is currently studying mechanical engineering at Iowa State University, is getting ready for a trip to San Isidro, Nicaragua, in a few weeks with eight of her fellow engineering classmates.  The group is implementing a fertilizer production project.

The ISU Nicaragua team is in need of materials that are difficult to find in Nicaragua, so Shroyer is asking for item donations from Decorah residents.  If you would like to donate any of the listed items, please drop them off by June 1st at Decorah Vet Clinic at 604 Montgomery Street in Decorah.

1. Tools for the workshop
•    18 volt cordless drills
•    Needle nose pliers
•    Grip pliers
•    Tweezers
•    Ammeter
•    Leather gloves
•    Various tools
•    Electric drill with conventional connection
•    Emery for metal cutting (angled)
•    Polisher for the trucks
•    Small vacuum cleaner for the trucks
•    GPS
•    Mini GPS
•    Two automatic welding masks
2. First Aid Kit (Health):
•    A first aid kit
•    Automatic blood pressure monitor
•    Blood glucose monitoring system
•    Thermometers
