Winneshiek Medical Center's 100-year anniversary #1 collectible Red Wing pottery will go on a live online auction on Thursday, May 22 beginning at 7am. People can enter bids on Winneshiek Medical Center's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/WinneshiekMedicalCenter) or call 563-387-3143. The bidding closes at 10am on Thursday and the winner will be announced on the medical center Facebook page and on the KVIK news at noon and 5:30pm. Listen live to KVIK for auction updates during the morning show.

Proceeds from the auction go to the WMC Foundation, and bids are tax-deductible. There are three crocks to bid on: #1/400 quarter-pint mini crock, #1/250 quart-sized beater jar crock, and #1/250 thirty-oz. Cherry Band pitcher.  Each crock displays the centennial logo for the medical center and the two larger crocks feature a photo of the first Decorah Hospital (courtesy of the James P. Ronan collection.)

"There's been a lot of interest in our collectible crocks – especially the set marked with number one," says Patty Casterton, WMC community relations coordinator. "These are sure to be any collector's dream and we're excited that we can try something new by using Facebook to auction the pieces."

Crocks or pitchers are for sale at the WMC Gift Shop or at Eckheart's Art Gallery & Antiques in downtown Decorah. The quarter-pint mini crock sells for $12, a quart sized beater jar crock sells for $25, and the 30-oz. Cherry Band pitcher sells for $35.   For more information, contact Community Relations at Winneshiek Medical Center: 563-382-2911.
