Full speed ahead for Trails From Freeport

All systems are "go" now for the Freeport extension of the Trout Run Trail.

A final easement agreement has been signed with a property owner along the proposed trail route.  That has allowed the plans for the trail to be sent to the Iowa Department of Transportation.

A bid letting by the State of Iowa will be held in July.  Winneshiek County Engineer Lee Bjerke says construction should begin early this fall, with completion of the trail and improvements to River Road completed by mid-summer of next year.
