On Monday night The Decorah Community School Board approved two more major technology projects totaling nearly $200,000. One purchase for wireless equipment will resolve the Apple TV connectivity problems that have hampered the recent major technology upgrades in the schools. The other will replace original network switches at the Middle School and High School. CEC was the low bidder on both equipment bids.
The Board approved a revised budget for next year. This is a routine practice that most districts implement after an initial budget has been approved. Changes will not impact district residents related to taxes.
The Board also approved, pending completion of graduation requirements, a list of 152 seniors, scheduled to graduate on May 18.
Several items on the scheduled May agenda - including approval of a solar voltaic system, review of technology replacement schedules, and summer projects - were tabled due to temporary health issues that prevented full preparedness for discussion.
