St. Benedict's School teacher wins statewide award

St. Benedict's School teacher Patty Lien has been named the "Teacher of the Year for Iowa History" in the National History Day program's Junior Division for 6th through 8th grades:

Two teachers are chosen from each state, one at the Junior level and one at the Senior level. Teachers are nominated by students, parents and peers.  Winners are awarded $500 and are eligible to compete at the National level. 

Patricia Behring sponsors the award for all fifty states, the District of Columbia, Department of Defense Schools, International Schools-Asia and the US territories.
