decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz is confirming what all of the rest of us already suspected--it was REALLY wet in Decorah in April!

Bernatz has been crunching the numbers and his calculations say there was 6.9 inches of precipitation in April.  That's more than double the average April precipitation of 3.14 inches.

15 days out of April's 30 had measurable precipitation in Decorah.  The greatest rainfall was 1.63 inches recorded on April 21st.

This April finishes 5th on the list of wettest Aprils in Decorah.  115 previous Aprils were drier.  For the year, Decorah is running 12.43 inches above normal for precipitation.

All of the rain left Decorah on the cool side, as well.  The average temperature was 45.6 degrees, which was 1.6 degrees cooler than the historical average.
