Spillville woman named to NICC post

Spillville resident Gena Gesing is now the Northeast Iowa Community College associate director of career and intermediary programs.

In the new position, Gesing is responsible for providing career experiences for high school students with local business and industry.

The new initiative was made possible through an Iowa Department of Education grant to Iowa's 15 community colleges to support the development and implementation of a statewide network that prepares high school students for the workforce.

Gesing previously served as the NICC High School Partnerships coordinator from 2005 through 2013.
