first on decorahnews.com: Interim Administrator for Winneshiek Medical Center will be named next week

The job of Chief Administrative Officer at Winneshiek Medical Center won't be empty for long.  Mayo Clinic Health System La Crosse Chief Administrative Officer  Joe Kruse says an Interim CAO should be in place by Tuesday or Wednesday.  Kruse tells decorahnews.com that the Interim CAO will probably spend three days a week in Decorah at Winneshiek Medical Center.
 
With the Interim CAO in place, Kruse's attention will turn to finding a permanent Chief Administrative Officer to replace Gretchen Dahlen, who held the job for just under two years. 

A search committee will have representatives from the WMC Board, WMC staff members and Mayo Clinic Health System.  Mayo provides administrative services to Winneshiek Medical Center through a Management Services Agreement.
 
Kruse tells decorahnews.com he expects the Winneshiek Medical Center opening will be seen as "an attractive job" because of the appeal of Decorah as a community and Winneshiek Medical Center as a hospital.  He expects the search to take from four to six months.  When it is completed, the search committee will present a list of a couple of candidates for the Chief Administrative Officer position and the WMC Board will select one of the candidates and make a job offer.
