Some Decorah Mediacom customers are getting faster Internet service

Mediacom Communications announced Tuesday that some of its residential Internet customers soon will get a boost in speed without paying more for it.

Mediacom customers in Decorah who subscribe to one of the business' upper tiers--Prime Plus, Ultra and Ultra Plus--will automatically be getting their speeds increased.

Prime Plus will increase its download speed to 50 megabytes per second from its current 30 megabytes per second.

Ultra will double its download speed to 100, while Ultra Plus will go to 150 mps.  Mediacom's standard service will remain at 15 mps downstream.

Mediacom has about 450,000 customers in Iowa.
