Eight Winneshiek County Democrats attend District Convention

Eight Winneshiek County residents participated in the Democratic Party's First District Convention Saturday in Vinton:

Joyce Becker, Deborah Bishop, Phyllis Burri, Steve Heins, Mary Hoffman, Georgie Klevar, and Peter and Becky Olafsen heard speeches by U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Braley, gubernatorial candidate Jack Hatch and all five candidates for First District Congress.

The delegates also voted on representatives to the State Central Committee and approved a party platform.
