Minneapolis resident is the recipient of Luther opera prize

Luther college junior Jenny LeDoux from Minneapolis has been named the recipient of the 2014-15 Alan R. and Sally J. Brudos Family Prize for Opera Performance at Luther College.

LeDoux, a 2011 graduate of Southwest High School in Minneapolis, is a music major at Luther.  She is a voice student of Luther associate professor of music Karen Kanakis, Luther professor of music Jessica Paul and Luther visiting instructor in music Jill Phillips.

Presented annually to a Luther College senior, the Brudos Prize was established by Alan and Sally Brudos to support students of outstanding ability and achievement who are preparing for careers in opera performance. The prize includes a $5,000 award.

The winner is chosen by a panel of Luther voice faculty members. Selection is based on promise and quality of vocal performance.
