City Forester: No evidence found yet of Emerald Ash Borer in Decorah:

Decorah City Forester Drew Stevenson says his crews have done a test for Emerald Ash Borer on ash trees in the city.

The result: no signs of Emerald Ash Boroer, which kills ash trees.  Emerald Ash Borer has been spotted in Allamakee County and in eight other counties. 

Emerald ash borers kill all ash tree species and are considered to be one of the most destructive tree pests ever seen in North America.

A statewide quarantine restricting the movement of hardwood firewood, ash logs, wood chips and ash tree nursery remains in effect.
