Denim Day Wednesday at Luther College raises awareness of sexual assault problems

Posted: Tue, Apr 22, 2014 4:46 PM

A number of Luther College employees wore jeans on Wednesday.

Faculty, staff and students wore denim in support of "Denim Day 2014."  Wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against destructive attitudes about sexual assault. This year's Denim Day will focus on educating the community at large on the legal definition of consent.

People on the Luther College campus will be asked to make a donation in exchange for wearing jeans Wednesday, with the money donated being used to raise awareness about the effects of sexual assault.

Donations will be collected at several buildings on the Luther campus.
