North Winneshiek School Board approves contract with teachers

The North Winneshiek School Board has approved a master contract with teachers for the 2014-2015 school year.  The teachers will receive a 3.78 percent total package increase with a new base salary of $30,900. 

The North Winn board also has approved a memorandum of agreement for the 2014-2015 school year for the services of a representative from the Food and Fitness Coalition.  The position will be a half time position next school year.  Due to funding changes, the school district will need to pay $2,500 of the cost of this position.  The district will be looking for grant money to cover this expense.   North Winn officials say the workers have done a good job of increasing awareness of nutritional foods and exercise at school.
