Truck fire leads to charges

The Decorah Frie Department and Decorah Police Department responded to a report of a truck fire Tuesday afternoon on First Street.

They discovered a fire in the cab of a parked truck.  The fire, which had started in the cushions of the front seat, was quickly extinguished.  But police found a pack of cigarettes near the fire and cited 16-year-old Aidan Lester-Deen for Possession of Tobacco by a Person under the Legal Age--Second Offense.

Firefighters determined the fire was started by a carelessly discarded match.
