City of Decorah announces that Yard Waste Site will open later this month

The City of Decorah has announced that the Yard Waste Site will open for the season on Wednesday, April 16th.

The City Yard Waste Disposal Site, located on Trout Run Road  1/4 mile south of Highway 9, will be open Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until noon

Only grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, sticks, branches and trees will be accepted.  All branches and brush must be cut into lengths not exceeding 8 feet.  Trees over 6 inches in diameter will not be accepted unless cut into lengths less than 20 inches and placed in the firewood pile.

Prohibited items include processed lumber, rock, concrete, roots, plastic bags, cardboard boxes.  A complete list of Yard Disposal Site regulations is available at www.decorahia.org
