March weather in Decorah was 7 degrees colder than normal

Numerical evidence is out, confirming what we already knew: March of 2014 in Decorah was cold, cold, cold!

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz has totaled the number and discovered the average temperature in Decorah in March was 25.5 degrees.  That's a full 7 degree cooler than the average March average temperature of 32.5 degrees.

On the list of 118 Marches for which records have been kept, March of 2014 falls 10th on the list of coldest Marches.  The worst March was in 1899, when temperatures average 20.3 degrees.

Snowfall totaled 10.7 inches in March, which was around 4 inches more than the average of 7 inches.
