A busy three-month period for drug law enforcement

The Decorah Police Department says the first three months of 2014 have been a "very active" period for drug-related investigation.

Police say they charged 14 subjects with misdemeanors and 10 subjects with felonies related to drug investigations.  Six search warrants were served and 20 investigations were opened from January 1st through March 31st.

Police say they confiscated 1.15 pounds of marijuana, 8 grams of meth, 10 doses of LSD, 4 doses of Ecstasy and 120 pharmaceutical doses.

Says a police spokesperson, "We continue to strive to keep the City of Decorah safe and clean from drugs and drug use."
