Luther College has announced that the Luther College Religion Forum lecture "Our Eroding Civil Rights; Understanding preemptive prosecution, torture, indefinite detention, drone assassinations and mass surveillance" by Steven Downs, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 3rd, has been cancelled.

The college has announced the lecture will be replaced with a different program.  The final Religion Forum of the 2013-14 academic year will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3rd, in room 102 of Luther's Franklin W. Olin Building.  The forum will discuss next year's theme, "Teaching Religion at a College of the Church."   The conversation will center around what it means to teach religion at Luther, and discuss the development of next year's Religion Forum series.

The Religion department seeks input from Luther and Decorah community members, and asks that attendees join in the discussion of potential topics, questions and issues for the 2014-15 Religion Forum Series focused on the theme "Teaching Religion at a College of the Church."
