WMC hires new physician

Primary care and OB services have expanded at Winneshiek Medical Center.  Dr. Andy Goodner, a Cresco native, has joined the Mayo Clinic Health System practice in Decorah.

Goodner will begin seeing patients on Monday.  He will provide full-spectrum family medicine care, from birth through retirement, including obstetrics and women's health, pediatrics, and the prevention and management of chronic health conditions like diabetes.

Dr. Goodner received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, and completed medical school at the University of Iowa.  He completed his residency in family medicine at Fort Collins Family Medicine in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2006 and joined the Mercy Health Network - North Iowa.  He has been practicing as a family medicine physician with obstetrics at Iowa Falls Clinic since 2006, also serving as their Physician Director of Emergency Services.
