Smithsonian Magazine names Decorah and Lanesboro to its list of America's 20 Best Small Towns

Decorah has gotten more national recognition.  Smithsonian Magazine has named Decorah as one of "America's 20 Best Small Towns."  Smithsonian put Decorah at #19 on its list.

The magazine's April issue says, "Decorah sits in the heart of Iowa's bluff country, an area heralded for scenic beauty and wildlife.  Dunning Springs, just minutes from downtown Decorah, is a 200-foot waterfall—visitors can explore the area by bike or via a network of hiking trails."

The magazine also mentions Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, Seed Savers Exchange, Lillesoster Butikken and Milkhouse Candles.

Smithsonian Magzine also adds Lanesboro at #10 on its list of top small towns, calling it "the bed-and-breakfast capital of Minnesota.
