The next time the Decorah City Council holds one of its regular meetings, it will be at an earlier time.
The city council voted 6-1 Monday night to begin future meetings at 5:45 p.m. The proposal had first surfaced during a city council planning session. City council members said the earlier starting time would avoid forcing people to come out during the evening to attend a city meeting.
Under the new system, any public hearings will be held at 5:45 p.m and committee meetings will be held after the end of city council meetings or on different days.
