A survey conducted of employees at Winneshiek Medical Center has revealed that 79 percent of the staff describe themselves as "satisfied" with the way the hospital is operating. That's up from 62 percent of the staff in 2011 that gave the same answer.
WMC Director of Human Resources Laurie Bulman says she's "very pleased" with the change, which she attributes to the changes the hospital made following the 2011 survey. Hospital administrators made those changes based on staff input, says Bulman. She also pointed to the 56 percent of employees who agreed that the hospital had "a genuine interest in the well-being of its employees" as another positive indicator. In 2011, only 33 percent of those responded answered that question affirmatively.
Bulman says the results of the most recent survey did give a few areas that still need work, but she's pleased by the overall response.
