Winneshiek County elected officials are getting pay raises

Winneshiek County elected officials are getting a fivepercent pay raise.

The county's Compensation Board had recommended a sixpercent pay raise after reviewing the results of a study which said the paylevels for elected officials in Winneshiek County were significantly lower thanthose for similar officials in other parts of the state. 

The five percent pay raises mean these salaries will be ineffect for the next fiscal year: Sheriff, $68,749; County Attorney,$62,408; County Treasurer, $52,900; County Auditor, $52,493; and County Recorder,$51,793. 

County supervisors will be paid $29,504 each, while the CountyBoard Chair will be paid $30,254.
