School Board counters initial offer of DEA for 2014-15 Master Contract

The Decorah Community School Board has offered a counter proposal to the Decorah Education Association for the 2014-15 Year Master Contract. The Board has offered a total package increased of 3.1 percent or $283,073.98.  It includes a base salary increase of $50 to $27,950. The total salary package would be $9.41M in contrast to the DEA proposal of $9.63M. The DEA has proposed a 5.49 percent package increase amounting to $501,430.

Private negotiations will start between the groups next week, with arbitration (if needed)  tentatively set for March 31.
