Decorah Education Association offers first proposal for 2014-15 Master Contract

On Wednesday afternoon, the Decorah Education Association made its initial offer in the 2014-15 Master Contract negotiations with the Decorah Area Schools. The proposal calls for a 5.49 percent total package increase that would increase the total package by $501,430 to $9.63M. The proposal also called for maintaining the same insurance package, and some minor language changes related to continuation of insurance packages when employees need to be on leave for illness.

The District will present its initial counteroffer next Monday in a brief public meeting. Extended private negotiations will commence the following week.
