Winneshiek Medical Center's new Ossian Clinic opened its doors for the very first time on Monday.
The clinic has three exam rooms for patients; several staff spaces and a large physical therapy room that will also be used for Pilates classes.
The clinic is the result of work by Ossian community leaders, who appealed to Winneshiek Medical Center to open a clinic in the community after Gundersen Health Systems closed its Ossian clinic with the retirement of Dr. Ignatius Greene.
The new WMC clinic will be open daily from 7:30 am – 3:30 p.m. It will offer same day appointments as well as Walk-in Wellness lab testing.
Primary care in the WMC Ossian Clinic will be provided by Rebecca Gesing, ARNP, and Kathy Petersburg, ARNP, and will include family medicine services such as well child exams, athletic physicals, well-woman exams, care for chronic illness, immunizations, wellness labs, strep tests and same day appointments for illness. The Ossian Clinic will also offer rehabilitation services with physical therapist Rebecca Moonen, DPT and Alyssa Bullerman, PTA. Rehabilitation services are available with a doctor's referral.
