Details released about Thursday fire call

The Decorah Fire Department Monday released details of a fire call to the 1206 Locust Road apartment around 1:45 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of smoke in the building was received.  14 firefighters responded and found a cooking pot unattended, smoking on the cooktop.  There was no fire damage to the apartment.  The apartment and the remainder of the building were ventilated.  The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by the Decorah Police Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance and Alliant Energy. 

Meanwhile, Decorah firefighters also responded to a shed fire on Sunday afternoon. The fire occurred just behind the Decorah water tower, off of Locust Road.  Further details were not immediately available.  decorahnews.com will have an update as soon as possible.
