Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Where is this waterfall located?"

(A decorahnews.com reader tells us this photo was taken by Christopher Belz of Decorah. Attempts to reach him to confirm this have not been successful)

(Gert has e-mailed an historic photo to us, along with a question: Do any of you by any chance know were this is at?  I have seen a photo of a place called "black falls" which is somewhere SE of Kendallville.  I'm not sure if this is the same place)

Mr. Answer Person says, "To get to the bottom of this, we enlisted the help of Midge Kjome at the Winneshiek County Historical Society/Decorah Genealogy Library.  It took some investigating, but we have determined this is "Hidden Falls," which is located--quite naturally enough--off Hidden Falls Road in Glenwood Township.

Neighbors of the waterfall say it's a place where water runs off nearby fields--not a waterfall on a creek or river.

Either way, it's very beautiful, don't you agree?"
