January's and February's snows have kept the Decorah Street Department hopping

Everyone knows this has been a severe winter.  But employees of the Decorah Street Department especially know that's been the case.

Street Superintendent Dave Tollefson says his department has had someone working on 45 of the 48 days since January 1st.

Tollefson says street crews have used 400 tons of salt this winter on city streets--and another 100 tons of sand.
