Bradish Scholarship awarded to Jacob Stock

Decorah High School has named Jacob Stock the 2013-2014 recipient of the Norman C. Bradish Scholarship. 

Jacob plans to attend Winona State University where he will major in Social Work and Spanish. Jacob has been active in Decorah High School and the community. He is a letter-winner on the cross-country and track teams. He served as a captain of the 2013 cross-country team that placed third at the state meet. Jacob is also a member of the high school orchestra and concert choir.

In addition, he is involved in the Decorah Lutheran Church Youth Group. In 2013, Jacob was named an AP Scholar based on having passed three Advanced Placement Exams. Finally, Jacob has spent countless hours tutoring Decorah High School students in the school's Viking Academic Success Center.

Jacob is the son of Lee and Karen Stock of Decorah.

Norman Bradish created a scholarship to be awarded to a male graduate of Decorah High School who possesses high academic ability and curiosity, is liked by peers and adults, and displays high standards of character. The recipient must agree to attend a non-religious institution outside the state of Iowa. Also, the student must remain single until finishing his studies.
