Several cattle killed in semi rollover on Highway 139

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a semi-trailer rollover on Highway 139 north of Highway 9 around 1:15 Thursday morning.

The semi was hauling 31 steer when it went out of control.  The driver of the semi, Casey Carver of Sioux City, Iowa, did not require medical attention.  However, several of the steer were killed in the accident and others were severely injured.

Following the accident a news reporter from KIMT-TV in Mason City went into the ditch and was pulled out free of charge by Bill's Towing.
