The search for a new Luther College president is down to two candidates

A search committee has narrowed the list of candidates to two for the job of the next President of Luther College.

Luther officials announced the news in a campus e-mail sent out late Friday.  Off-campus conversations will be held this week between each of the two finalists and members of four campus groups--the Luther Cabinet and representatives of the faculty, staff and student body.

The search committee said it is handling the process this way because it "seeks the insights and impressions of the broader campus prior to making a recommendation to the Board of Regents.  Second, we regard these meetings as especially important in helping recruit the next president of the college.  Third, we believe this will be a significant step in establishing a healthy, vibrant relationship between the Luther community and the new president."

The Luther Board of Regents will meet on campus beginning February 21st, but it is not expected to take action on the presidential search at that time, but will instead get a report from the Search Committee.
