Head-on crash on Highway 9 injures two

A Postville man has been ticketed for driving left of the center line following a two car head-on traffic accident shortly before 11:00 p.m. Thursday on Highway 9 east of Ridgeway.

Aaron Hickman of Postville crossed over the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Bach Fosaaen of Cresco, with Hickman's vehicle coming to rest in the ditch and Fosaaen's vehicle coming to rest on the shoulder.

Several witnesses stopped to help the two drivers.  Both Hickman and Fosaaen suffered minor injuries, since they were wearing seat belts and their air bags deployed.  Hickman did not seek additional medical treatment after being treated by ambulance personnel at the scene, while Fosaaen was driven by car to the Howard County hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
