It's not too late to get a flu shot

The Center for Disease Control and the Iowa Department of Public Health have reported that the number of flu cases in Winneshiek County has increased.

The Winneshiek County Public Health Department says if you have been ill with the flu and have had nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, it is important to stay home to avoid sharing your illness with others. Get plenty of rest and replenish your fluid intake.  Avoid food preparation for others if you are experiencing these symptoms. Good hand washing is a must. Clean your home and disinfect areas such as bathrooms if you have been sick.

If you are sick, phone your healthcare provider before going to see them, so you do not expose others to your illness.  For more information, contact Winneshiek County Public Health at (563) 382-4662.
