Water and sewer lines would pass through the Downing Addition

The City of Decorah is about to begin a $4 million project to extend sewer and water mains to the Decorah Business Park off Highway 9.  In order to reach the business park, the water and sewer mains must go through the Downing addition on the south side of Highway 9.

That's why Decorah City Administrator Chad Bird will meet with Downing Addition property owners Thursday night--to explain the project and the impact it will have.

A bid letting is planned for March 13th.  Construction work is expected to begin some time this spring and run through the end of 2015.  Once the water and sewer lines are installed, they will connect to the overall municipal sanitary sewer system and to a city-owned water tower in the business park.
