Decorah man injured in snowmobile accident

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says it responded to a snowmobile accident four miles east of Ossian near Centennial Road on Saturday night.

49-year-old Jacob Ludeking of Decorah struck a hard-packed snow drift, causing his snowmobile to overturn.  Ludeking was thrown off the snowmobile, the was hit by the snowmobile after being thrown off.

Ludeking was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by the Winneshiek County Ambulance, then transferred to a Rochester Hospital.  He is listed in fair condition at St. Mary's Hospital.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Winneshiek Trail Twisters Club members at the scene of the accident.
