At this point it's just a possibility--but an exciting one.
The casting producer from "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" has contacted University of Iowa representatives, looking for kids who could appear on the TV show to talk about their inventions.
St. Benedict's 4th grader Gavin Thorson and North Winneshiek 5th grader Maria Hendrickson have been nominated by the University of Iowa's Belin-Blank Center as possible guests on the TV show.
As reported last April on decorahnews.com, Gavin invented the "BG Scooper," a backwards shovel designed to make life easier on the farm, while Maria invented "Ho-o-ld Your Horses," adaptable reins for disabled horseback riders made from recycled feed bags.
The producers of "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" will make a decision in the next two weeks--in time for a February 19th taping of the segment in Los Angeles.
