Free tax preparation help begins Monday

Northeast Iowa RSVP and the AARP Foundation will be providing free income tax assistance for mid- to low-income taxpayers and elderly taxpayers starting Monday.

Tax services will be held at the Decorah Public Library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the Postville Public Library on Fridays.  All services are by appointment only.  To make an appointment for Decorah or Postville, call 563-419-3703. 

Tax services will also be offered at the Cresco Library on Mondays and Tuesdays with appointments made by calling 563-203-7681.  Tax services will also be offered at he Allamakee County Extension office in Waukon with appointments made by calling 563-568-6345.

RSVP volunteers are certified by the AARP and VITA tax programs and services are provided free of charge.
