The Fort Dodge Mesenger is reporting that Wicks Construction of Decorah submitted the low bid of $2,839,770.25 for a downtown Fort Dodge project.  First Avenue North between Third and Seventh streets will be rebuilt, according to the newspaper.  The project will include total reconstruction of the pavement, sidewalk replacement and installation of new water mains, sanitary sewers and storm sewers.

Meanwhile, the Waterloo Courier  is reporting Voltmer Inc. of Decorah has been awarded a $171,282 contract by Hawkeye Community College.  The newspaper reports the exterior campus site lighting project includes installing lamp pole lighting around Hawkeye's interior courtyard walkway to make the campus more inviting for evening classes and events as to provide added security.
