Last June the Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the site plan of a proposed three-story apartment complex on Serentiy Drive.
However, several details of the apartment complex still remained unresolved, so City of Decorah officials asked for more information from the project developer, Traditions Management.
The Decorah City Council waited to act on the Planning & Zoning Commission's recommendation until it got the updated information from Traditions Management. That information never came.
As a result, City Administrator Chad Bird has told the Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission members that Traditionas Management has missed a written deadline for providing the information--and the application has officially been ruled as expired.
Bird says if Traditions Management still wants to proceed with the apartment development, it will have to start over from scratch on an application.
