Decorah resident ticketed following traffic accident

20-year-old Daniel Spilde of Decorah has been ticketed for Failure to Stop in an Assured Distance following a two-car accident Sunday on Locust Road.

Spilde said he came over a hill and saw a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Tracy Dostal of Decorah stopping to allow a car ahead of her to turn into a driveway.  Spilde applied his brakes but could not stop and hit Dostal's car, causing a total of $6,500 in damages.  Neither driver was injured.
