Decorah Police are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident January 1st on Broadway Street.

Kate Rattenborg of Decorah had parked her car facing north in a parking space next to the Winneshiek County Courthouse.  A passing motorist noticed damage to the rear of Rattenborg's vehicle and contacted police around 3:00 p.m. on January 1st.

Tire tracks in the snow indicated the hit and run vehicle had been heading east on Broadway, crossed the centerline and collided with the parked car.  The height of the damage indicated the hit-and-run vehicle may have been a pickup truck.

The accident caused $3,500 in damages.  Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the Decorah Police Department at (563) 382-3667.
