Survey shows Winneshiek Medical Center employees are satisfied with their workplace

The latest survey of employees at Winneshiek Medical Center and the Mayo Health Systems physicians in Decorah show they are largely satisfied with their place of employment.

The "All Staff Satisfaction Survey" was completed by 341 employees in Decorah.  Overall, they gave a 79 percent favorable rating to WMC.  That's an improvement of 17 percentage points from the results of the same survey in 2011.

84 percent of those taking the survey felt the hospital was doing a good job of implementing its strategic plan--an improvement of 32 percentage points from 2011.

The lowest favorable response came to a question of whether the respondents believed the survey results would be used to make changes at the hospital--less than half responded affirmatively.  WMC Chief Administrative Office Gretchen Dahlen expressed confidence those numbers would improve in the future, saying "We can demonstrate to the staff that we did listen to their concerns in 2011."
