Two-car accident does $8,000 in damages, results in ticket

A Decorah woman, 79-year-old Joyce Ellickson, was given a ticket for failure to yield on a left turn following a two-car accident on Highway 9 on Friday afternoon.

Police say Ellickson was traveling east on Highway 9 and made a left turn into the parking lot of the Kelly Real Estate office, but failed to yield to 62-year-old Gerald Wolf of Oronoco, Minnesota as he was driving west on Highway 9.

Neither driver was injured, but damage to the two cars totaled $8,000.
