Ossian man wanted on traffic accident charges

Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for an Ossian man after a one-vehicle accident on Highway 52 and County B-32 in Ossian.

Deputies say 25-year-old Tyler Hemesath ran through a stop sign at the B-32 intersection and then slid into a ditch, hitting a fence and a utility pole.  His truck was a total loss.

But Hemesath fled the scene of the accident and could not be found.  Deputies contacted family members of Hemesath, who confirmed he was the driver and was safe.

The Sheriff's Department says the accidents remains under investigation, with charges pending.
