2013 weather in Decorah was cold and wet

2013 was the fifth wettest year in Decorah in the last 111 years during which precipitation records have been kept.

April was wet--4.10 inches above normal--but it still didn't compare with May and June, which each had more than 10 inches of rainfall.

For the year, 45.71 inches of precipitation was recorded in Decorah--almost 13 inches more than average.  2013's total precipitation was just 3.4 inches away from tying the all-time precipitation record of 49.11 inches during 1993.

Otherwise, 2013 was slightly cooler than normal in Decorah, with an average temperature of 45.9 degrees, 0.35 degrees less than the annual average. Much of that difference was due to cold temperatures in March and April.
