January is National Mentoring Month

January is National Mentoring Month. 

Helping Services for Northeast Iowa is marking the occasion by urging people to become part of their Mentoring Program.  Helping Services has children on their waiting list that have been waiting over a year for a mentor. 

A news release from Helping Services urges, "Step up and be one of the adults who can make a friendship grow with a youth--the time commitment is minimal compared to the impact you have on the life of a youth."
