The Decorah Public Library history book group will discuss David McCullough's "Mornings on Horseback" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday January 23rd on the 2nd floor of the library. Books are currently available for checkout at the front desk.
"Mornings on Horseback" is about the world of the young Theodore Roosevelt. It is the story of a remarkable little boy, seriously handicapped by recurrent nearly fatal attacks of asthma, and his struggle to manhood, an amazing metamorphosis seen in the context of the very uncommon household (and rarefied social world) in which he was raised.
The history book group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month; newcomers are always welcome. The group will discuss "The Wars of the Roses" by Alison Weir on Thursday, February 20th at 6:30 p.m. Call Kristin at 563-382-3717 with questions.
