St. Benedict School has received a $5,711 grant from the Arlin Falck Foundation.
The grant funds are being used to replace student chairs in the third grade classroom, replace sixty folding chairs used in the gymnasium for various events, and install new carpet in the school's music classroom.
The Arlin Falck Foundation offers grant funding to non-profit organizations in the areas of community development, and community promotions and education. The grants are provided for the benefit of persons living in Fillmore, Houston, Allamakee and Winneshiek counties
Physical education teacher Trevor Rockwell has received a $2,650 grant from "Fuel Up to Play 60." The money will be used to construct a school garden. Fuel Up to Play 60 is a program founded by the National Dairy Council and NFL, in collaboration with USDA, that empowers students to take charge in making small, everyday changes at school.
